BB Share-a-Gift

Hey guys,

This post is just to clarify some details for those who are confused or if this is your first time.

Venue: BBHQ (Opposite Great World City, click here for details on how to get there.)
Reporting Time: 0830
Dismissal Time: 2045-2130
Attire: Full Uniform.
Items to Bring:
BB Polo PT Kit
Water Bottle
EZ-Link Card with at least $2

ICs:
13/12/10: SGT Lim Shi Min Jonathan
14/12/10: SGT Neo Wei Hang
20/12/10: SGT Ho Ren Yi Jonas
21/12/10: SGT Lim Ting Jie

When you reach BBHQ, you should see the warehouse inside. Turn right and look for 2nd Coy people in the open field. And at 0830, we will fall in IN THREES. Not squads. And report to the IC.

Next, it will be allocation of jobs. There are 3 different jobs:

1) Outpost. These outposts will be mainly covered by Founder's Award Applicants (FAAs). You will only be chosen if there are not enough FAAs to cover all of the outposts. You will be sent to a NTUC Fairprice Supermarket in pairs or threes. When you arrive, you will just collect and organise the donations into the boxes provided. $10 will be given to you for lunch and dinner. You will be released anytime from 2100 at the supermarket you are posted to when a primer comes to dismiss you. Further instructions will be given.

2) Warehouse. You will stay in HQ to recieve the donations from the various Supermarkets. You will be unloading, organising and packing donations. Lunch and Dinner will be provided. You should be released latest by 0930.

3) Delivery. You will deilver the donation bags to the benificaries. When you are waiting for a Delivery Order (D.O.), you will help with warehouse.

This is a brigade level event. So be punctual and do as they say. The HQ people will punish you and not us. Also, as Ting Jie has said, DO NOT address us by our NCO roles (eg. Chairman, CSM) for we are not in charge of the event. We are only in charge of company level and NOT brigade level stuff. Just address us as sergeants.

Thanks,

Chairman Lim Ting Jie, CSM Lim Shi Min Jonathan

Hi guys,

Camp Temasek V

2nd Coy is sending 8 boys to "Camp Temasek V" from 3 - 7 December at the Pasir Laba Camp. It is a national camp held specially for Uniformed Groups all over Singapore.
It is held only once every 5 years, and hence this is a very rare opportunity to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime camp.
As for all interested boys, please contact Officer Gordon by email at [g_oscar87@hotmail.com] BEFORE 22 September, Wednesday.

Probable quota:

Sec 2s - 3 boys

Sec 3s - 5 boys

Thanks!

PSL Application for Sec 2s

Any Sec. 2s who would like to apply to become a PSL, the application forms wil be available on the BB website by 18 Sept, 10 p.m.
The date of submission has been extended to Monday, 21 Sept. Do take some time to reconsider this application, as a successful application will definitely be able to provide more
opportunities for leadership potential, which will prove useful for any NCO-to-be next year.

Stastics - BB PSLs for the last 3 years:

2008 - 1 PSL

2009 - 0 PSLs

Company BBQ 2010

Hi all!

The last parade before the long break in preparation for the End-of-year Examinations will be held on the 11 September 2010. However this parade would be a special one. It will be the Company BBQ for the year, organised by our very own Sec. 1s.

This parade is compulsory (unless, of course, you have a valid reason) as it is the official BBQ of the year. This parade will be a rare opportunity for the entire company to bond together having food, chit chat and, more importantly, have fun together as one.

Consent forms will be issued at a later date.

Thank you :)

Arrow Scouts 71st Campfire 2010

Hi all!

Victoria School's Arrow Scouts will be organising a combined campfire in the VS, with most of the action at our school's very own Parade Square.

It will be held on the 4th of September 2010 (Saturday), which starts at about 7 p.m. and lasts for approximately 3 hours.

Besides our CCA, there will also be uniformed groups from up to 10 different schools participating in the campfire. This campfire is a good opportunity to mix around with cadets from UGs in other schools, and strengthen the bonds between VSBB and Scouts.

You can look forward to a fun-filled night of activities, and it will definitely be a plus point if you have Scout cadets in your class going for the event too. This will enable you to spend the evening with not only you CCA friends, but also your fellow peers, and thus better uplift your spirits during the campfire.

It is not compulsory, but do consider going for this event if you have the time and make your decision by next parade. (Do note that there will not be any parade on that day, with the exception of those participating in CQ. So going for the campfire does not bring you any loss, but instead gives you something that you can take away from.)

Thanks! =D

CSM Jonathan Lim and Chairman Lim Ting Jie (yes, we'll be there too)

2nd Update of BBCQ 2010

Hi all!

We will be having our Annual Character Quest Competition on 4 September 2010.

This year's theme is "BE EXTRAORDINARY". For this year, we are studying about the life and ministry of the Apostle Paul as described in Acts 8-9 & 12:25 - 21:17. See how the Apostle Paul was extraordinary in his personal life, in his family, among his friends, in his community and in the world.

We can send 4 teams of 4, with 1 reserve for each team. Currently 19 people have signed up.

There is still 1 open space so for those who are interested please contact me to register.

My no. is 84843597. Although the spaces are filled, you can still sign up as there might be a selection test and there might be spare spaces to fill so you can still sign up!

Training Hours are most likely to be during parade hours so it should not be a problem.

If you have any other queries, please post a question on the tag board or contact me!

Thanks!

June Camp Debrief

Hey guys! I wanted to say this during debrief but unfortunatly, due to my voice problems, I was unable to. So here is what I have to say!

Firstly, I would like to thank the whole company for coming to the camp, when things did not go according to plan due to unforeseen circumstances, you guys waited patiently for us to settle our stuff. We hoped that you had enjoyed playing our games, and have learnt more about how to face your giants!

Next, thanks to the Sec 2s for planning such a wonderful night games, everyone enjoyed it. I hope that you guys have some experience on planning an event and know what kind of screw ups to avoid. Keep up the good work and continue to work hard!

Thirdly, I would also like to thank the council, for planning this camp and try to make it a success. There are many other camps and events to plan, let whatever we have done wrong in this camp be a lesson, and learn from it, and plan better events next time round.

Finally, I would like to thank all the officers, teachers and CLTs for coming down to the camp to facilitate and give us advice on how to better run a camp. Without you all, we could not have excuted the camp properly.

That is all for now, and I hope you all have enjoyed this camp and we shall look forward to other greater and better events. Thank you (by CSM Lim Shi Min Jonathan)

The Riddle Contest

At night when you wander, I watch where you go. I see you in summer. I see you in snow. My brothers together and I in the night will watch you and guide you, but leave at day light. Duty makes us do things well, but love makes us do them beautifully. Privilege is the greatest enemy of right.

Taking over of Company

Hello everybody, here is your new web admins Darren and Lip Sing. As behalf of the company, we would like to thank the officers, primers and the previous council for giving us this honourable oppurtunity to lead the company to greater heights. We will not let you down and we would do our best. Lastly, we shall end of with this quote "Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is a process and working together is a success."

Handing over of Company

The previous year has been a sucessful one for the Company and the Boys, partially due to the good leadership from NCO Council '09/'10. Now its the time for handover of the Company. Remember the first parade we took last year was the AQ prize giving ceremony? So much has passed since then. During challenging times, the whole company stayed united as one, held together by the leaders. Together and overcame, one example was during the Financial Crisis and we couldn't get enough funds, and the squad leaders had to step in to ask for more effort from menbers. We hereby wish the new NCO Council will keep up the good work and perhaps even find aspects to improve. Have a good year, 2nd Company!
